What is CCCS of Elgin?
Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Elgin is a non-profit
community service
program of Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area and is
affiliated with the
National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). CCCS of Elgin
provides financial
advice, debt management, and educational programs. CCCS teaches people
how to live
within their income and rehabilitates people burdened by debt. It is
not a charity
organization, a lending institution, or a collection agency.
What CCCS of Elgin can do:
 | Restore self-reliance and family well-being to persons with money
management and/or debt problems. |
 | Help individuals avoid filing bankruptcy and minimize legal
proceedings and
collection problems. |
 | Relieve employers of the bothersome and expensive participation in
employee
wage garnishments. |
 | Help business and financial institutions salvage delinquent
accounts and
rehabilitate customers. |
 | Help individuals prepare for home ownership and/or obtain and
review their
credit report. |
 | Promote financial literacy throughout the community through
financial seminars
and workshops. |

Certified counselors are available Monday through Saturday (days and
evenings) at the
following locations: Elgin, Carpentersville, Hoffman Estates, and
Streamwood.
Spanish speaking counselors are also available by appointment.
