A Look At Fundraising

Fundraising is an important tool for not-for-profit agencies especially during these difficult times with no state budget. Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area (FSA) is a private, 501(c)3 not-for-profit agency that provides a full array of mental health services to children and their families. FSA is proud to be serving residents in the greater Elgin community since 1931. It is thanks to the wonderful support and gifts that we receive from generous donors that we are able to help so many children. For those interested in offering continued support we now offer a year round opportunity thanks to the addition of a “Donate Now” button recently added to our website. This year is FSA’s 85th Anniversary. We look forward to celebrating with a little help from our friends.

On February 18, 2016 Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area hosted its 3rd annual “Chase Away the Winter Blues” at the Grand Victoria Casino Ballroom. Thanks to Mother Nature we had perfect weather to celebrate and gather with friends and co-workers. We had over 150 people come out to chase away their winter blues. The Grand Victoria was a perfect backdrop and provided us with a wonderful array of appetizers and desserts. FSA had 36 raffle baskets and 3 live auction items to choose from valued over $6,000. Attendees had fun participating in our Heads and Tails 50/50 Bead Raffle. The great selection of music was played by DJ Greg Roerig.

A big thank you goes to our Fundraising Committee, Governing Board, and staff for all the help to make this a successful event. All money raised from this event is being used for psychiatric services for children, adolescents and their families. Thanks to everyone in attendance. We raised $8800.

Here’s looking forward to next February!
